FAQ
Is the umbrella for both men and women?
Yes.
I have seen lots of wind resistant umbrellas before, how can you say yours is the first?
We are not saying it is the first wind resistant umbrella, but 'the first accessible wind resistant umbrella'. Ours is the first wind resistant umbrella to be small enough to fit in your bag and retail for under £15.
What does 'wind resistant' mean?
To us as commuters, it means that the umbrella will resist inversion of the canopy in most winds.
How wind resistant is it?
We have tested it up to 32mph in a wind tunnel 'fully exposed'. Testing fully exposed means the umbrella was on its side at its most vunerable to inversion. Note: lots of umbrellas do not test their umbrellas fully exposed, they test them with the wind coming down on top, therefor they claim a much higher resistance.
How small is the umbrella?
When opened, the umbrella has a diameter of 75cm and when closed the umbrella is just 26cm in length.
How light is it?
Our umbrella is made from all the lightest materials - weight: 285g.
Are you bringing out more colours?
Yes.
My umbrella was damaged in a wind, is it covered under your warranty?
No umbrella brands cover wind damage under their warranty. Whilst our umbrella is wind resistant, it is not wind proof, no umbrella is. We make every effort to design the most reliable umbrellas using the strongest high quality materials, we do not cover damage due to wind or wear and tear.
I have lost the case of my umbrella, do you sell replacements?
Unfortunately we do not hold stocks of cases or spare components.
Do you repair umbrellas?
We do not have a repair service.
How should I care for my umbrella?
Although all of our umbrellas use corrosion resistant materials, it is best to leave the umbrella open to dry as soon as you can. The fabric should be cleaned using a soft cloth moistened with plain water as detergents may remove the waterproof coating.
I am a retailer and am interested in stocking your product, who should I contact?
For trade enquiries please email rh(at)haloumbrellas.com.
Where was this designed?
In a pub in Camden Town called The Worlds End, after work, drinking Guinness/a cider.
